Welcome
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Advisory Board, the Experimental Soft Matter and Thermal Physics (EST) group is pleased to invite you to the 14th edition of the International workshop series “Engineering of Functional Interfaces – EnFI2023”.
EnFI20203 will be held at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels, the heart of Europe. The L in ULB stands for ‘libre’ or ‘free’, which refers to an attitude of free inquiry and moral commitment to always keep freedom of conscience to critical thinking. The University was founded in 1831 and just like the city of Brussels, it has evolved to a multicultural university with an outward-looking position always keeping excellence, freedom and commitment as identity signatures.
EnFI is an established workshop, now at its 14th edition, on functional interfaces, whose scope covers a broad audience of scientists, physicists, chemists, engineers, pharmacists and bio-engineers. Its aim is to help in the academic career of early stage researchers to gain visibility and establishing or reinforcing collaborations. EnFI topics range from fundamental understanding of physico-chemical properties at interfaces to the design of smart surfaces for the development of sensors in the biotechnology and environmental fields. The EnFI community is growing and we hope to incorporate some new from the French-speaking community.
EnFI is the ideal platform for young researchers (PhD students and postdoctoral researchers) to show their latest results and exchange ideas. Different scientific sessions will be organized with a tutorial lecture by international renowned experts starting each session. Every participant will have the opportunity to perform a 3-minute flash presentation, followed by in-depth discussions at the poster market.
Looking forward to meeting you in Brussels !!!
Patricia Losada Pérez and Simone Napolitano
